Rachel Yoder

I develop paintings through a process of layering.  Each layer builds on the one before and structure is formed from the overlapping pieces.  I work with colour in planes and blocks and grids.  It feels inevitable to paint the lines and structure I saw for 25 years building houses.  Evidence of Construction refers directly to the way in which my experience as a carpenter informs my artwork and are a witness to how the paintings are built.
